Huh?

Yeah, you heard that right. After the recent cold snap (Atlanta has been shut down for 5 days) many people with whom I have spoken, and even some people on television have begun to beat a different type of global warming drum. Their excuse for the recent cold weather is that, “Global Warming is Causing Global Cooling“.

Now if that isn’t a stark contradiction, then I have never heard one in my life. However, before I poke too much fun at them, they truly believe that this is true. They are convinced that global warming has caused the ice caps to melt, cooling the ocean currents and causing the recent extreme winter weather events. Therefore “Global Warming is Causing Global Cooling“.

Let’s play devil’s advocate here. If the previously laid out scenario is indeed the case, and global warming is causing the ice caps to melt, resulting in global cooling, then wouldn’t logic say that the ice caps would begin to freeze again because of the colder temperatures? Hell, maybe we have had so much global warming, that we have set ourselves on an unavoidable collision course with the next ice age?

It wasn't that long ago that we were freaking out about the coming Ice Age

Is Global Cooling the Reason for the Moderate Hurricane Seasons the Past 5 years?

I remember that even the great Nostradamus predicted Hurricane Katrina was the result of an unavoidable trend of increasingly severe tropical cyclones. These storms would continue to get worse and worse until we reached the point that life as we know it would cease to exist. As an avid follower of weather in general, I have noticed one trend that NOAA seems to proclaim year in and year out. Their last 5 hurricane season forecasts have stated that we were to have an extraordinary amount of powerful storms, many of which would make landfall in the U.S.

You know what? Much to the chagrin of the doom and gloom crowd, the last 5 seasons have been extremely moderate.

So is global warming causing global cooling, thereby reducing the severity of tropical storms, but increasing the severity of winter storms, as a result of the cooler currents, because of the melting ice caps, that may freeze back up because of the impending ice age caused by global warming? (quite a mouthful…..I know)

Global Warming and Global Cooling are Natural Trends

Let’s face it. People in today’s day and age need an excuse to freak out. (See Swine Flu Epidemic Declared Over)

I know that we have had summers that have been much warmer than normal recently, even portrayed as “The Hottest Ever”. However, what the global warming crowd doesn’t seem to acknowledge is the fact that the Earth has constantly been in a state of climate change. Even if we continue to be on a warming trend, it is probably a very natural type of thing. I will leave you with this snippet, which basically says that we do not know what the hell is going on.

As an authoritative review by the Heartland Institute of two international-scientist surveys shows, there is no consensus:

“The question most people are most keen to ask climate scientists is probably ‘do you agree or disagree that climate change is mostly the result of anthropogenic (manmade) causes?’” writes Heartland, summarizing the 2003 survey. “Slightly more than half (55.8 percent) of climate scientists surveyed agreed, 14.2 percent were unsure, and 30 percent disagreed. Interestingly, more scientists ‘strongly disagree’ than ‘strongly agree’ that climate change is mostly the result of anthropogenic causes. The survey clearly shows that the debate over why the climate is changing is still underway, with nearly half of climate scientists disagreeing with what is often claimed to be the ‘consensus’ view.”

***2,428,943 people declared that life as we know it is over due to Global Cooling after reading this article.

Which of the 3 statements is not true?

FACT: Al Gore is a pariah that has created an entire religion around the “science” of global warming.

FACT: The earth has always had periods of “global warming” and “global cooling”

FACT (According to Gore): Global Warming is not open for debate. “It is like gravity, it exists”.

After reviewing the results of this question, even 8 year olds picked option 3 over 98% of the time. So if a small child can spot a fraud, why does Al Gore continue to embarrass himself? Personally, I think that Gore suffers from the lack of attention that he received as vice president, and undoubtedly has not gotten over the fact that he lost the 2000 election 10 years ago. We all know this as he continues to use his “funny” joke that he has used over 5,874,098 times, “I’m Al Gore and I used to be the next president of the United States.”

So, Gore, AKA Manbearpig, has compared global warming to the science of gravity…Basically it isn’t open for any type of debate because it exists. Yes, that was his comeback to Sarah Palin’s questioning attitude about Gore’s religion. Here is the full transcript.

Algore, as interviewed by the very conservative network…..NBC

Gore bit back during an interview with NBC’s Andrea Mitchell to air Wednesday afternoon. The former presidential candidate said “the deniers are persisting in an era of unreality. The entire North Polar ice cap is disappearing before our eyes … what do they think is happening?”
Gore said Wednesday that the scientific community has worked intensively on the issue for twenty years. “It’s a principle in physics,” he told Mitchell. “It’s like gravity, it exists.”

Gore compares global warming to gravity

Sarah Palin’s response to Algore

She may not be a good presidential contender, but gotta love her!

With the publication of damaging e-mails from a climate research center in Britain, the radical environmental movement appears to face a tipping point. The revelation of appalling actions by so-called climate change experts allows the American public to finally understand the concerns so many of us have articulated on this issue.

“Climate-gate,” as the e-mails and other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia have become known, exposes a highly politicized scientific circle — the same circle whose work underlies efforts at the Copenhagen climate change conference. The agenda-driven policies being pushed in Copenhagen won’t change the weather, but they would change our economy for the worse.

Gore's Global Warming is as real as Manbearpig

The e-mails reveal that leading climate “experts” deliberately destroyed records, manipulated data to “hide the decline” in global temperatures, and tried to silence their critics by preventing them from publishing in peer-reviewed journals. What’s more, the documents show that there was no real consensus even within the CRU crowd. Some scientists had strong doubts about the accuracy of estimates of temperatures from centuries ago, estimates used to back claims that more recent temperatures are rising at an alarming rate.

This scandal obviously calls into question the proposals being pushed in Copenhagen. I’ve always believed that policy should be based on sound science, not politics. As governor of Alaska, I took a stand against politicized science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population had more than doubled. I got clobbered for my actions by radical environmentalists nationwide, but I stood by my view that adding a healthy species to the endangered list under the guise of “climate change impacts” was an abuse of the Endangered Species Act. This would have irreversibly hurt both Alaska’s economy and the nation’s, while also reducing opportunities for responsible development.

Our representatives in Copenhagen should remember that good environmental policymaking is about weighing real-world costs and benefits — not pursuing a political agenda. That’s not to say I deny the reality of some changes in climate — far from it. I saw the impact of changing weather patterns firsthand while serving as governor of our only Arctic state. I was one of the first governors to create a subcabinet to deal specifically with the issue and to recommend common-sense policies to respond to the coastal erosion, thawing permafrost and retreating sea ice that affect Alaska’s communities and infrastructure.

But while we recognize the occurrence of these natural, cyclical environmental trends, we can’t say with assurance that man’s activities cause weather changes. We can say, however, that any potential benefits of proposed emissions reduction policies are far outweighed by their economic costs. And those costs are real. Unlike the proposals China and India offered prior to Copenhagen — which actually allow them to increase their emissions — President Obama’s proposal calls for serious cuts in our own long-term carbon emissions. Meeting such targets would require Congress to pass its cap-and-tax plans, which will result in job losses and higher energy costs (as Obama admitted during the campaign). That’s not exactly what most Americans are hoping for these days. And as public opposition continues to stall Congress’s cap-and-tax legislation, Environmental Protection Agency bureaucrats plan to regulate carbon emissions themselves, doing an end run around the American people.

In fact, we’re not the only nation whose people are questioning climate change schemes. In the European Union, energy prices skyrocketed after it began a cap-and-tax program. Meanwhile, Australia’s Parliament recently defeated a cap-and-tax bill. Surely other nations will follow suit, particularly as the climate e-mail scandal continues to unfold.

In his inaugural address, President Obama declared his intention to “restore science to its rightful place.” But instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the United States will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante. He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a “deal.” Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people. What Obama really hopes to bring home from Copenhagen is more pressure to pass the Democrats’ cap-and-tax proposal. This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs — particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science.

Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicized conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen.

What a load of BS.

The environmental protection agency has come out with a finding geared towards pouring gasoline onto the global warming hoax. These lunatics are now suggesting that carbon dioxide (CO2) is not only heating the planet, but now this major building block of life is harmful to our health.

I always thought that plants make oxygen out of carbon dioxide, which coincidentally enables humans to absorb the oxygen into our lungs giving us life. Just to be clear, I went out and found out the exact way that this process works.

.

How Humans turn Oxygen into Carbon Dioxide

…..by breathing

The primary function of the respiratory system is to exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide. Inhaled oxygen enters the lungs and reaches the alveoli. The layers of cells lining the alveoli and the surrounding capillaries are each only one cell thick and are in very close contact with each other. This barrier between air and blood averages about 1 micron (1/10,000 of a centimeter) in thickness. Oxygen passes quickly through this air-blood barrier into the blood in the capillaries. Similarly, carbon dioxide passes from the blood into the alveoli and is then exhaled.

Oxygenated blood travels from the lungs through the pulmonary veins and into the left side of the heart, which pumps the blood to the rest of the body. Oxygen-deficient, carbon dioxide-rich blood returns to the right side of the heart through two large veins, the superior vena cava and the inferior vena cava. Then the blood is pumped through the pulmonary artery to the lungs, where it picks up oxygen and releases carbon dioxide.

For God’s Sake. Everybody stop Breathing….Or else We will all Die

So let me see if I am getting this right. When human beings breath, they give off CO2. If there are billions of people on the planet earth, then I see no other way to save the planet…..We have to stop breathing. Now.

If we do not stop warming the planet by exhaling carbon dioxide, we will surely be setting the stage for the destruction of planet Earth. If humans would only stop breathing, the rain forests would be saved, endangered species would flourish, and the horrific warming of the planet would stop. The only downfall to this utopia is the fact that we would all be dead.

But what about the Children?

Hold onto your sanity while you read this…..

Global Warming Activists Target Children to Spread Propaganda

My daughter came home from school recently with a spring in her step and a song on her lips. With no foreshadowing — or time to call an exorcist — out came this chilling refrain:

” . . . You can hear the warning — GLOBAL WARMING . . . ”

By the time her father and I removed our jaws from the floor, we had learned that:

A) All the kids had been coerced into singing this catchy ditty, which we called “The Warming Song,” at a concert for parents.

B) Further song lyrics scolded selfish adults (that would be us) for polluting our planet and causing a warming scourge that would, in no short order, kill all the polar bears and threaten the birds and bees.

C) There was no deprogramming session on the menu. And no arguing allowed.

The international “Climategate” scandal is now moving into its third week. And reaction from folks on the scientific and political left — or is that redundant? — who treat global warming as a cult in which naysayers must be crushed has been depressing:

Total denial.

So, as the e-mails prove, the scientists did something about it. They cooked the books to exaggerate global warming.

Of course! How can you scare the bejeezus out of little kids and small animals if you can’t make the mercury move a millimeter? Simple. You lie.

Our children are on the front lines of the warming hysteria, a place where “experts” from Al Gore to the president leave no room for dissent or even the slightest skepticism, despite claims that are no more provable than the Earth is flat.

Children were the targets of a book co-written by the producer of Al Gore’s star-making vehicle, “An Inconvenient Truth” — a fantastical view of global warming that should have been called a fiction, not a documentary.

It may come to pass that global warming is real. Or not.

But your children won’t get the truth from Al Gore, the president or the scientific community. Or sadly, from school.

Neither will you.

Climategate Debate Continues. Climate Data Transparency Needed.

As Climategate goes into its second week, the vigorous debate over the validity of global temperature data continues to be at the forefront of the scandal. In addition, some prominent climate scientists are demanding reform on how global warming research is conducted after thousands of private e-mail messages and documents were stolen from a climate research facility.

Many scientists believe that the e-mail messages, which disclose the inner workings of a small network of climatologists who chart the planet’s temperature, have damaged the public’s trust in the evidence that the planet is dangerously warming, just global warming talks are set to begin in Denmark.

“This whole concept of, ‘We’re the experts, trust us,’ has clearly gone by the wayside with these e-mails,” said Judith Curry, a climate scientist at Georgia Institute of Technology.

She and other scientists argue that scientists should re-evaluate the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the panel that in 2007 concluded that humans were the dominant force driving global warming and whose findings serve as the basis for international discussions determining a new climate treaty.

The e-mail correspondence includes heated conversations about warming trends, advice on deleting controversial e-mail messages and how to distribute negative comments about climate skeptics. These emails serve as evidence of a conspiracy to suppress opposing views and withhold data from public in a scandal that has come to be known as “Climategate.”

However, questions have been raised about whether the evidence indicates that climatologists tried to prevent distribution of articles written by climate skeptics, described in the e-mail messages as “garbage” and “fraud.”

Many regulators believe that the affair could affect negotiations over a new global climate treaty. “This is very serious and can put the whole climate debate, including any future agreement in Copenhagen and beyond, in big question,” a leading politician said in an e-mail message. And even some environmental campaigners believe that the disclosures have damaged calls for climate action.

I love the fact that there is an accelerating movement towards Global Warming skepticism. The floodgates may have opened recently with a hacker’s breach for the Climatic Research Center.

Here is how it went down.

Unidentified persons hacked a server used by the Climatic Research Unit, posting online copies of e-mails and documents that they found. The incident is being investigated by police and involved the alleged theft of more than 1,000 e-mails and 3,000 other documents, consisting of 160 MB of data in total.

The alleged breach was first discovered after someone allegedly hacked the server of the RealClimate website on 17 November and uploaded a copy of the stolen files. According to Gavin Schmidt of RealClimate, “At around 6.20am (EST) Nov 17th, somebody hacked into the RC server from an IP address associated with a computer somewhere in Turkey, disabled access from the legitimate users, and uploaded a file FOIA.zip to our server.” A link to the file on the RealClimate server was posted from a Russian IP address to the Climate Audit blog at 7.24 am (EST) with the comment “A miracle just happened”. The alleged hack was discovered by RealClimate and the University of East Anglia was notified.

How much fuel does Gore burn in his Private Jet?

On 19 November the files were uploaded to a Russian server before being copied to numerous locations across the Internet. An anonymous statement accompanying the e-mails defended the alleged hacking, on the ground that climate science is “too important to be kept under wraps” and describing the material as “a random selection of correspondence, code, and documents.” The stolen material was first publicised on 19 November on The Air Vent, a climate-sceptic blog.

The following chart gives a prime example of data that has been suppressed by the research group!

Our Faces are Going to Melt off within 10 Years

By Rowan, 11/24/09

Here we go yet again……… another doomsday scenario from a group of environmental scientists.

OSLO (Reuters) – Global warming is happening faster than expected and at worst could raise sea levels by up to 2 meters (6-1/2 ft) by 2100, a group of scientists said on Tuesday in a warning to next month’s U.N. climate summit in Copenhagen.

In what they called a “Copenhagen Diagnosis,” updating findings in a broader 2007 U.N. climate report, 26 experts urged action to cap rising world greenhouse gas emissions by 2015 or 2020 to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.

I thought Global Warming was supposed to Kill Us by Now

Well, 2010 is right around the corner and Al Gore has been stroking the global warming drum for well over 10 years. (All the while, traveling to and from environmental conferences in his gas guzzling private jet). So far, I just can’t lend much credence to this scenario of impending doom anyhow, since seeing is believing.

Miami and Manhattan are still well above water, and to the best of my knowledge, there hasn’t been a single case of any damage or problems caused by rising waters in the United States. I do recall seeing that an island off of the coast of Alaska is washing away, but that is just an erosion event. Or maybe it has something to do with our country’s obesity epidemic?

And the doom and gloom goes beyond the anticipated water rise, as environmentalists have been sounding alarms that global warming is contributing to active hurricane seasons. But where have all of these crusaders gone over the last 3 years when we have seen virtually no tropical activity? Are they only sounding alarms and pointing their fingers when it a convenient (not inconvenient) truth?

Not so long ago, we were facing imminent Global Cooling

It is my opinion that history will see this hysteria as little more than developing a cause that is much more trendy than based in fact. After all, in the 1970′s, everyone was convinced that we were getting ready to enter into another ice age.

Per Wikipedia: “Global cooling was a conjecture during the 1970s of imminent cooling of the Earth‘s surface and atmosphere along with a posited commencement of glaciation. This hypothesis never had significant scientific support, but gained temporary popular attention due to a combination of press reports that did not accurately reflect the scientific understanding of ice age cycles, and a slight downward trend of temperatures from the 1940s to the early 1970s”

Today, people almost take a masochistic joy in panic, and is evidenced by global warming, forest fires, economic situations, or even the imminent destruction of earth in 2012 (I heard that they are already poised to blame 2012 on George Bush if it happens). Like the fable of the boy who cried Wolf, one day we will face a real imminent crisis, but will be so numbed to the idea of real danger, it will probably catch us when we least expect it. In the meantime, lets just pass another stimulus bill to begin to move our coastal cities in at least 20 miles…….
