The Barack Obama News Week of 12-5-09 Reviewed

Let’s face it, Barack Obama is always in the news. No person on early is more closely analyzed and watched than Obama, or any president of the United States for that matter. Here at Political Prostitution, we are starting an Obama news week in review segment every weekend. In these posts, the staff will analyze and give credit where credit is due, and when to scream from the rooftops when we think that something is amiss. Hopefully, we will be able to report positive things about the happenings in the country, as well as the President for that matter.

The Obama News Week for 12/5/09

Iran thumbs their Nose at Barack and the Rest of the Free World

The Iranian regime gave the world the equivalent of the finger this week when they announced that they would be expanding their nuclear program to include 10 additional reactors this week. As was written this week in Political Prostitution, these actions should not go unpunished, and another round of diplomacy will surely result in continuing bad behavior by Iran, its president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and the religious mullahs that hold so much power.

The rubber will meet the road when the Israelis decide on a course of action on the subject. No country has more to lose than the state of Israel, as it faces a constant threat of analyzation from Iran. We would not be surprised in the least if they chose to be preemptive, and chose to attack rather than to be attacked….

The Obama Job Summit…..With Jobs the Thought doesn’t Count

With unemployment still north of 10%, we commend the thought of having a meeting of the minds to come up with a stringent course of action to right the jobs situation. However, unlike a bad gift, in this situation, the thought doesn’t count when it comes to an employment solution.

Missing from the list of attendees were the self-proclaimed voices of business – the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Federation of Independent Business. After all, why would the 2 agencies most responsible for job creation be missing from a solution based “summit”? Oh yeah, thats right…….Obama has to play politics….. Both agencies have been critical of Mr. Obama’s proposed health care overhaul, so if you don’t agree with the President, you aren’t invited to the party.

And that makes the whole summit nothing but a crock.

The Estate Tax will live on

Not that we were holding our breath in this era of taxing and spending, but the price for being extremely successful is coming back. The estate tax, due to be repealed next year under a Bush plan, will instead be signed back into law on personal estates of up to 3.5 million dollars. Now don’t get me wrong, percentage wise this does not affect a large number of households, but why the heck is the government entitled to your money at the time of your death? Shouldn’t you be able to provide a legacy for your heirs?

The resounding answer is no. The government has the “right” to your hard earned money, not your beneficiaries. This is just another glaring example of punishing success, and “spreading the wealth”
